Hogan and Bishoff Officially Sign with TNA

"Hulkamania” is back! The biggest name in professional wrestling history, Hulk Hogan, is joining Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling (TNA), the fastest rising wrestling organization in the world and home to one of cable television’s highest rated shows for young men, TNA iMPACT! The announcement was made today by TNA Wrestling in conjunction with Spike TV at a press conference held in New York City.

“Hulk Hogan is one of the world’s top pop culture icons and the biggest superstar in the history of professional wrestling. We are truly excited to welcome him into the TNA family,” said Dixie Carter, President of TNA Wrestling. “Our goal is to become the world’s biggest professional wrestling company. Hulk defines professional wrestling and we look forward to partnering with him in a variety of ways as we continue to grow TNA globally.”

“I’m thrilled to be jumping back into the world of professional wrestling,” said Hogan. “My fans have been asking me to return to the business for many years on a full time basis, but the timing or the opportunity has never been right until now. TNA Wrestling is a great company with an already excellent fan base, business and broadcast partner. I firmly believe now is the time for some change at TNA as they are positioned to jump to the next level in their development and I’m here to work with Dixie to help make that a reality.”

Through Hogan’s partnership with Bischoff Hervey Entertainment Television, the deal with TNA was negotiated by longtime Hogan colleague Eric Bischoff. Additionally, BHE TV has inked a first-look deal with TNA and will be working with the organization to develop new programming extensions of the TNA brand.

“Hulk Hogan adds yet another level of star power that positions TNA iMPACT as Spike TV’s version of ‘Must-See TV’ on Thursday nights,” said Kevin Kay, president of Spike.

Fight between the tag team champs

At WWE Bragging Rights, Big Show started laying the foundation for his quest by turning his back on Team Raw. And although he suffered the wrath of fellow Raw members just a day later, by Friday Night SmackDown, The World’s Largest Athlete had already secured a signed contract to face The Undertaker at Survivor Series.
On that same edition of SmackDown, Chris Jericho defeated Kane to also qualify to face The Phenom – officially making it a Triple Threat Match.
Since winning the Unified Title at Night of Champions, the tag team champs have been on a roll, tearing through a slew of formidable opponents. But now, they must face not only each other, but their greatest challenge of all – The Demon of Death Valley.
Ever since winning the Heavyweight Title at Hell in a Cell, The Undertaker has showed no signs of letting up. At WWE Bragging Rights, the champion overcame the odds and successfully defended his gold against CM Punk, Batista & Rey Mysterio in a Fatal Four Way Match.
If The Phenom can take on three opponents and win, surely he can do the same against two. But, at 485-plus-pounds, one could argue that Big Show counts as two Superstars.
Can Jericho or Big Show find a way to topple The Undertaker? Or, will The Phenom make his opponents regret even stepping in the ring with him?

WWE HELL IN A CELL 2009 MATCHES

The 2009 WWE Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View arrives on October 4, 2009 live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. This event will feature at least two of its matches fought inside the solid, massive steel cage which is lowered around the ring. During the match, competitors can fight inside the ring, outside the ring or even up on top of the cage! Fans will remember one of the most memorable moments in the history of the match which featured The Undertaker battling Mick Foley aka "Mankind". During their famous match, the Deadman tossed Mankind from off the top of the cage, and he came crashing down through a commentary table. Surprisingly, Foley walked away to talk about it and still does to this day.Back to the Pay-Per-View event, Hell in a Cell will see John Cena and Randy Orton battle it out once again for the WWE Title. Also, D-Generation X will fight their foes, Legacy inside the steel cage. Full 2009 WWE Hell in a Cell PPV Results will be posted on this blog as soon as the event has ended, but for now he's the history of the various matches or feuds for the event.Batista made his surprise appearance on WWE Raw to reveal two more surprises; one was that he was healed from his biceps injury caused by Randy Orton, and the second was that he was moving back to Smackdown in search of competition. The Animal found that competition fast, in the forms of the Big Show and Chris Jericho. Jericho was the first to challenge him for the Smackdown top spot, but failed in his attempts. Next up, Big Show tried his luck on Smackdown, and Batista held his own, eventually locking an ankle lock submission on Show. Jericho rushed in to save his partner, but only wound up feeling the pain of the ankle lock himself. Batista left both the tag champs hobbled, and then later made the big announcement; he will team up with Rey Mysterio to face the Unified Tag champs at Hell in a Cell. Jericho and Show have proven they are worthy holders of these belts, but Batista & Mysterio are no slouches. Will they be able to function well as a team and capture the tag team titles, or will the Jericho Show connection continue their reign?

Batista Speaks Out on Hot 99.5 in DC

He talked about his injury and goofed around a little bit with the host. He was asked about how he's doing with the injury, he said he's feeling better each and every day and can't wait to get back to WWE. He said he missed Wrestlemania and was bummed out because it was the 2nd one he missed in a row. He says the main thing is he gets healthy and recovers from nagging injuries so he can be at his best for next year's Wrestlemania.

The host questions him on the current Raw gimmick with the guest hosts and he says he hosted Raw last month and it was a lot of fun and he likes the idea. He says they've had guest hosts like Freddie Prince, Seth Green and Jeremy Piven and they have Bob Barker next and says he's a legend.

The host brings up his book Batista Unleashed and says in it he dated Melina and says she's so hot, how did he manage that? Batista says she's a great girl, very sweet and they are still good friends. The host then asks what its like to work with such hot women and does it distract him from his job. Batista says hes a professional and separates the 2 apart, he says he's been with a few of their divas but when it comes to work, he's professional. He says he's been with Melina, Kelly and he was with Rosa until a couple of months ago. The host jokes and says is he trying to complete the set of all the divas? Batista says they have the most beautiful women in the world. The host then asks if there's any other divas he'd like to hook up with next. Batista says he has a thing for twins and that they have a couple of those.

The host then asks about Summerslam and Batista says it was a blast and great to be back and it had a big feel in LA because they did the fan access stuff. He says he watched the show and thought it was very good and says CM Punk has become great while hes been gone.

Shawn Michaels makes his much anticipated return to partner up with Triple H for a D-Generation X match against Legacy (Rhodes & Dibiase). Raw's John Cena looks to once again become WWE Champion by defeating current champ, Randy Orton, the Viper. In what could be a show-stealer, Jeff Hardydefends the World Heavyweight Title against CM Punk in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs (TLC) Match! Before the pyrotechnics went off, there was a D-Generation X skit involving the video feed with HBK and HHH trying to fix things since it kept getting messed up. As they tried to fix the feed DX said "We're back" before the Summerslam promo video started...The pyro fireworks went off to open the Pay-Per-View. Jim Ross welcomed fans to the 22nd edition of Summerslam.Early on, the action spilled to the outside as Rey knocked Ziggler out of the ring and followed up with a Hurricanrana. When they got back into the ring, Dolph began to take control again briefly. Mysterio came back and tried a move from off the middle rope, with Ziggler dropkicking him down from the air. This was followed by Dolph trying for several pins with Rey escaping.

Mysterio managed to trip Ziggler into the ropes and went for a 619, with Ziggler slipping outside the ring. Ziggler slips back into the ring after Rey came out after him. As Rey returns to the ring, Ziggler is able to hit his finisher on him. Rey barely kicked out of the pin at 2 1/2. From there, Rey was able to hit a 619, but missed a move from the corner, allowing Ziggler to roll him up for a pin. Rey escaped yet again, and Ziggler got him up on his shoulders near the top rope. Mysterio was able to do a spin move followed by the Hurricanrana onto Ziggler from the top rope for the pinfall victory. Rey is still your Intercontinental champ!

D-Generation X vs. The Legacy

Reuniting as D-Generation X, Triple H and long-time friend Shawn Michaels will be crashing The Biggest Party of the Summer as the duo is set to take on The Legacy’s Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase at SummerSlam.

In recent months, Triple H has tried everything in his power to rid Raw of WWE Champion Randy Orton and The Legacy, but it seems as if at every turn, Rhodes & DiBiase did their leader’s bidding and thwarted The Game.

It wasn’t until The King of Kings lost a Handicap Match on Raw against the two young Superstars that it dawned on him that he needed a little assistance. What better help than the same man with whom The Game had created his own legacy as part of D-Generation X?

Only one thing stood in the way of that, nobody had seen Shawn Michaels since he lost his match against Undertaker at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Fortunately for Triple H, HBK gave his old friend the nod and agreed to get the band back together.

Although The Cerebral Assassin and The Showstopper haven’t teamed together in more than nine months, whenever the two reunite it tends to be explosive – if not hilarious, as well.

It’s doubtful that Rhodes & DiBiase are laughing at the tremendous task set before them, but both Legacy members seem confident heading into perhaps the biggest match to date for either of their young careers.

Will it be the antics and years of teaming that lead Triple H & HBK to a successful DX reunion? Or will Rhodes & DiBiase use their natural abilities and determination to pick up an impressive victory over the two decorated in-ring veterans?

‘The Peep Show’s’ explosive return

'The Peep Show's' explosive return, Kara Medalis- COLUMBUS, Ohio - After a nearly four-year absence, "The Peep Show" made its return to WWE on Tuesday night, as ECW Champion Christian brought his signature show to the Land of the Extreme. With his Judgment Day opponent, Jack Swagger, as his special guest, Captain Charisma once again outsmarted "The All-American American," gaining the momentum he needs just five days before he defends the ECW Title.

"The Peep Show" with ECW Champion Christian and Jack Swagger
For the first time as ECW Champion, Christian brought "The Peep Show" to ECW on Sci Fi Tuesday night. Captain Charisma's special guest was none other than his Judgment Day opponent, Jack Swagger. "The All-American American" promised Christian he'll reclaim the ECW Championship that Christian "cheated" to "steal" at Backlash, showing the WWE Universe clips of Christian exposing the turnbuckle for the victory. But instead of playing clips of Swagger exposing the opposite turnbuckle, Christian offered a montage of Swagger's greatest lisp-filled speeches on ECW. (WATCH)

Since ECW's interim General Manager, Tiffany, promised there'd be consequences to pay if either Christian or Swagger engaged in physicality during "The Peep Show," Swagger continued to berate the ECW Champion. But it was only a matter of time before Christian abruptly ended "The Peep Show," and attacked his stunned Judgment Day opponent with a punch to the face. An irate Swagger ran out of the ring as the WWE Universe cheered for Christian. Will the ECW Champion successfully defend the title Sunday at Judgment Day, or will Swagger reclaim the Extreme gold to once again become the face of the Tuesday night franchise? Tune in to Judgment Day, this Sunday at 8/7 CT, live and only on pay-per-view.

Finlay def. Tyson Kidd
With Natalya banned from ringside, a retribution-seeking Finlay defeated Tyson Kidd by disqualification on ECW on Sci Fi. But The Belfast Brawler wasn't celebrating his win after David Hart Smith emerged to back up Kidd. The Hart Dungeon-trained duo brutally attacked Finlay, as Kidd used Finlay's shillelagh twice against him. After the vicious assault, Natalya joined Kidd and the son of the British Bulldog for a Pink & Black Attack reunion in the ring. Now that Smith has joined Kidd and Natalya in the Land of the Extreme, will anyone be able to stop this trio?

Mark Henry def. Tommy Dreamer
With WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas in his corner, The World's Strongest Man was victorious against Tommy Dreamer. The ECW Original fell victim to Henry's World's Strongest Slam Tuesday night. Dreamer's defeat comes at a time when he's fighting to be king of the Land of the Extreme once again. With his contract expiring in just weeks, Dreamer vowed to become ECW Champion or leave WWE. Will Dreamer's hopes of becoming ECW Champion again be crushed? Or will the ECW Original fight his way to the top? And what will Henry do Thursday night on "WWE Superstars" when he faces ECW Champion Christian just days before he defends the Extreme Title at Judgment Day?

Vladimir Kozlov def. local competitor
Since his ECW arrival, Vladmir Kozlov has been undefeated in singles action, repeatedly and mercilessly beating his competition. After his win, The Moscow Mauler demanded an interview from the ECW announce team. Josh Mathews asked Kozlov how his Russian military training has helped him. Kozlov explained that he’s trained in the superior Russian martial art of Sambo, “which uses the great combination of skills and discipline,” Kozlov said. “That is why I will dominate everyone here in ECW.” He then again delivered a mysterious, forceful, message to the WWE Universe in Russian

Backlash Coverage Match Six: Last Man Standing Match for the World Heavyweight Title - Edge vs John Cena

The finale of Backlash is upon us, as it's the "Last Man Standing" match with John Cena taking on Edge. Here's our thoughts on this final match to wrap up yet another WWE PPV.

Matt: A VERY cool ending to a match that seemed to drag on forever, the Last Man Standing you knew was going to have some cool spots, but it was good to see they saved the best for last. The Big Show choke slam through the spotlight was very well done, and it looked great on TV. The match was the usual long, dragged out with a number of near 10 counts, but in the end, you knew that Edge needed to get this belt back so SmackDown would have someone to call champion.

It seemed to be a pretty scary shot through the spotlight, and even on the replay, it seemed there was no real way to protect Cena when he took the slam. Let's hope that he's okay, but at the same time, I think we're heading for a big Cena-Show feud, while Edge starts a showdown with someone on SmackDown. Who that is will be anyone's guess.

John: Well we got our payoff for watching this lackluster pay per view. On a evening of average matches, and that is being generous, we saw a fantastic main event. It started slowly, but one had to see that coming as they has plenty of time to fill out for this show. But the momentum grew and the action started to pick up in the ring. But they saved the best for last as they took it outside, and in the stands. It started with Edge getting tossed into the front row from the announce table. Then we went into the crowd, out into the concourse and back to the stage. Here it ended with Cena being tossed into a spotlight via the Big show and Edge walking away with the win. You knew Edge would win as they need a major belt on Smack Down, but this finish was unpredictable. It matches like this that will pick up interest in the WWE again. This match harkens back to the Attitude era when ECW was forcing major brands to up the ante in order to keep fan interest.

WWE News: WrestleMania 26 Location Revealed

A press conference will be held tomorrow to announce the official site of WrestleMania 26. The WWE will be covering this story tomorrow as well.

According to the Arizona Republic it has been confirmed that WrestleMania 26 will take place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

The University Of Phoenix Stadium is listed as having 63,000 permanent seats, but can be expanded to having over 73,000 seats. This stadium opened in August 2006 and it is absolutely stunning.

The University of Phoenix Stadium has a retractable roof similar to the one on Reliant Stadium in Houston, which is where this year's WrestleMania will take place.

For you NFL fans out there, you know that this stadium is where the Arizona Cardinals play their NFL home football games.

I am looking forward to viewing a WrestleMania in this beautiful stadium. It seems like the WrestleManias just keep getting bigger.

WWE Superstars discuss SmackDown vs. Raw 2009

WWE Superstars Randy Orton, Jack Swagger and Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix discussed their experiences with the creation of the newest edition of the franchise and playing it. The article also discusses the several new features of the game including the Road to WrestleMania mode, Create-A-Finisher and the reworked tag team chemistry within the game.

One of the game's most prominent features is the enhanced tag team match. Additions in the match include new ways of tagging the player's tag team partner such as the hot tag, which can help save the player in the match if they are in trouble, and the forced blind tag, where the illegal partner can tag his or herself into the ring. The legal player's tag team partner has more of a part to play in this match and will aid the player by holding an opponent on the ropes while on the apron (pictured), and pulling down the ropes for an opponent who is dashing towards them, sending them out of the ring. Teams will now share their own momentum meter, attributes and double team finishers.
SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 is the first WWE video game to include the Inferno match, a match where the player has to set their opponent on fire. Unlike the real life match which takes place with the ring surrounded by fire coming from gas fed pipes, the ring ropes themselves are on fire. To win the player must increase the temperature of the ring by performing more devastating moves. As soon as the temperature reaches 500°F (or in the EU version 300°C), the player can then begin to set their opponent on fire. However this match type is not available for the Wii.

Former WWE Superstar-turned-actor sideswiped by truck

Giant Australian actor/wrestler Nathan Jones, winner of the world's strongest man contest, was side-swiped by a cement truck while jogging recently in the pre-dawn hours in Bangkok, Thailand. He suffered severe damage to his left arm. There is no report of what damage was done to the truck in its collision with the 6ft 11 in, 320 pound Jones. The driver took off, though there were witnesses and the police are pursuing leads.

Forty-year-old Jones had just signed a deal with wrestling organization TNA Entertainment to re-enter wrestling in the United States, but nerve damage to his arm will sideline him for three months, by which time doctors have told him he will be fully recovered.

His management company is also in final talks for Nathan to star in a U.S. motion picture franchise based on a series of horror novels in which he would play the screen's largest, most brutal and terrifying character.

Jones is a former WWA heavyweight champion and was a WWE wrestler for two years before returning to Australia. Nathanwas "killed" by Brad Pitt in the 2004 film "Troy," battled with Tony Jaa in the 2005 film "Tom yum goong," fought in the ring with Jet Li in the 2006 film "Fearless," was thrown off a cliff by Steve Austin in the 2007 film "The Condemned" and played Humungus in the 2008 motion picture "Asterix at the Olympic Games."

Jones was in Thailand promoting his latest film release "Somtum," an action movie about a 7-foot-tall docile man who learns Muy Thai and then uses his new skills to help solve a case of stolen diamonds.
